In case of partially confirmed tickets, waitlisted tickets do not cancel automatically if the waitlisted parties do not wish to travel they can file a TDR and seek a refund for their amount after deduction of clarical charges/ standard cancellation charges (If any), however confirmed passenger of partially confirmed ticket get to travel (TDR can be filed through this link https://goibibo.typeform.com/to/YdKv2g).
